Employee Training and Onboarding:
Itasca Retail provides a comprehensive CGO overview and employee training program designed to motivate and support change management.
We teach success, and instruction is designed to quickly instill user confidence and trust in the Itasca Magic™ CGO software and its results for employees throughout the store, not just end users. Certain common procedures will change when the software is implemented. Cashiers, for example, may need to understand why the quantity key has been de-activated and every unique item must be scanned at the POS.
Primary training elements include:
- Instructor-Led Training
- On-the-Job Training
Online instructional courses are tailored for both end users of the Itasca Magic™ software and other store employees who are not end users.
The overview session is a 20-minute block that is interactive, with a certification quiz at the end. It introduces CGO concepts and outlines what’s ahead for workers. It uses visuals and includes a description of what will be covered in the larger training program.
Our professional instructor leads classroom style, 30-minute sessions for end users that are topic-specific. These are conducted off the sales floor in a classroom environment – typically the store’s conference room. Alternatively, sessions may be held at a retailer’s satellite office or training center facility.
Classroom instruction is conducted in small groups to accommodate scheduling. It is hands-on by design. Students use laptops and handheld devices to actually perform the tasks. Each session has a concluding test for certification.
On-the Job Training.
These are hands-on sessions conducted on the selling floor in stores and departments as they are rolled out. A typical sequence begins with grocery, dairy and frozen. At retailers’ option, we offer a train-the-trainer model. Itasca’s training and implementation experts train the trainers in the first round. Provides ongoing ability to train new trainers and new employees.
Training programs and materials are adapted to each retailer’s software and procedural environment. A library is provided with:
- User Guides
- Job Aids, SOP’s
- Cheat Sheets
- Checklists and Certifications
Documentation may be customized with the retailer’s branding and imagery. Some training may be tailored to conform with the retailer’s specific rules for using the system (such as manual adjustments of inventory).
